Job Description:
Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Produce Order Writer to join
our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our produce
department, you will be responsible for ensuring that our shelves
are always stocked with the freshest, highest-quality produce
possible.Key Responsibilities
- Purchasing and Replenishment: You will be responsible for
purchasing and replenishing produce through proper buying
procedures, including monitoring and acting upon open PO reports
for both purchases and credits in an accurate and timely
manner.
- Inventory Control: You will be responsible for controlling
spoilage and shrink, achieving turn goals, and participating in
inventory management.
- Merchandising: You will be responsible for maximizing sales
potential through effective and proper procedures for stocking and
merchandising products, including completing spoilage, sampling,
temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
- Customer Service: You will be responsible for providing
excellent customer service, addressing needs of customers in a
timely and effective manner, and modeling suggestive selling
techniques.
- Teamwork: You will be responsible for working collaboratively
with our team to ensure that our store meets the highest standards
of quality and customer satisfaction.Requirements
- Education and Experience: 12+ months retail experience, with a
strong background in produce and inventory management.
- Skills: Extensive produce product knowledge, including
production, distribution, seasonal availability, advances, and
trends. Strong basic math skills and knowledge of computer programs
such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk
6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday, and work in a fast-paced
environment with a sense of urgency.What We OfferWe offer a
competitive hourly rate of $17.00 - $23.60, commensurate with
