Job Description:
Kitchen Manager is a vital role, overseeing kitchen operations,
ensuring food quality, safety, and efficiency. This position
involves supervising staff, maintaining inventory levels, and
supporting the Head Chef. The Kitchen Manager plays a key role in
fostering a collaborative environment and enhancing the dining
experience through exceptional food preparation and
presentation.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared
according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Monitor food safety practices and enforce sanitation protocols
to maintain compliance with health department regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchen areas to ensure
cleanliness and proper equipment maintenance.
- Train kitchen staff on food safety practices and proper
handling techniques to minimize risks.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, feedback, and
support to ensure high performance and teamwork.
- Develop and manage weekly staff schedules, ensuring adequate
coverage for all shifts.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and onboarding new kitchen
staff, ensuring alignment with restaurant standards and
culture.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment by
encouraging open communication and collaboration among team
members.
- Identify and develop high-potential staff for future leadership
roles within the kitchen.
- Manage inventory levels for food and kitchen supplies,
conducting regular stock checks and placing orders as needed.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to forecast menu needs and
adjust ordering based on sales projections and seasonal
changes.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all food items to
minimize waste and maintain quality.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a kitchen environment,
with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Proficient in food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and culinary
techniques.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced
environment.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) and
kitchen management software.
- Must work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a physically
demanding environment.
- Access to reliable transportation and availability during
operating hours.
